CONTRACEPTION
Contraception means birth control or fertility control, or methods or devices used to prevent pregnancy are called contraceptives. Planning, provision and use of birth control is called family planning.
Contraception can be permanent like tubectomy or temporary like, birth control pills, cu-T etc.
The Temporary contraceptives are classified as
1. Birth control pills
2. IUCDs (intra-uterine copper devices) or IUDs (Intra-uterine devices without copper)
3. Barriers - like condoms
4. Cyclical methods or safe period method
5. Spermicidal creams
6. Emergency pills

What Is the Morning-After Pill (Emergency Contraception)?
Emergency contraception or morning after pills are recommended to prevent pregnancy after unprotected intercourse. These pills cause high incidence of nausea and vomiting and also cause menstrual irregularities and there is always the fear on the mind of the woman of the failure of the pill and of the unwanted pregnancy.
